GENERAL GIVING FAQ
If you choose to get involved in any kind of group it will cost you in time and money. It is true that, if you don’t get involved in anything, you will have maximum control of your time and money. However, you will miss friendships and opportunities to be a good influence in the lives of others. Each of us decides where to spend our time and money. Each of us will either invest it in some purpose or waste it on the pleasures of the moment. Jesus said that there is an eternal investment that will not fade, rust or decay when we do good works that show our love for God and others (Matthew 6:19-20).
There are people who invest in Church in the Hills because they believe that what is happening here matters. We are inviting you to be part of what we are doing in our community.
The generosity of our partners is vital to what we do because it enables us to live out our mission of Encountering God, Embracing People and gives us the resources to impact our community. But giving is more than about being generous to the church. The scriptures say that God loves a cheerful giver, not because the church’s needs are met, but because God’s heart is made glad when we depend on him to provide for us.
We invite you to be part of making Church in the Hills happen.
Where does the money go when I give?
God provides for the ministry of Church in the Hills through your tithes and offerings. We honour your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of Church in the Hills remains beyond reproach. Your faithful giving provides for our staff, facility rental, outreach events, kid’s and youth ministry and everything in between. We can’t do ministry without you.
What if I don’t have enough money to tithe?
Giving 10% of your income to your church can be a big – and often frightening – commitment! But if scripture tells us to honour Him with our first fruits and our blessings will be overflowing, we must learn to trust that He is faithful to provide. God wants us to trust Him. Seek His guidance in how much you should give, and He will honor your faithfulness and obedience.
